Billboard Hot 100 (Issue Date: 10/30/10)

As posted yesterday, Far East Movement's "Like A G6" unseats Bruno Mars' "Just The Way You Are" for the top spot on this week's Billboard Hot 100. It's kind of cool to see back-to-back #1 songs from artists with Asian heritage since it does not happen frequently (who knows this could be the first time, I'll check). Meanwhile, after a strong start Rihanna's "Only Girl (In The World)" seemed to slow down the past couple of weeks but with the release of the music video the song got a boost and is once again on track to be Rihanna's 8th #1 (6th as the lead artist), the song climbs to #4 this week. The other #1 challenger "Just a Dream" by Nelly stays put at #3 for a second straight week.

Nicki Minaj is like "Ja Rule" or "Akon" of 2010, you know that one artist who is almost everywhere with so many "...feat" tracks but with her quite long discography of being "featured artist" she hasn't landed a top 10 hit until this week as "Bottoms Up" by Trey Songz climbs to #10 this week. Her previous highest peaking song was Ludacris' "My Chick Bad" which peaked at #11 and as for her own single, "Your Love" peaked at #14 earlier this year.

Taylor Swift's digital promo single "Back to December" debuted at #6 this week, her fourth consecutive top 10 debut for 2010. First was back in February for Valentines Day (movie) song "Today Was A Fairytale" which entered at #2 then her first single for third album "Mine" entered the chart at #3 and last week her digital promo single "Speak Now" debuted at #8. Taylor Swift is indeed unstoppable as her latest digital promo single "Mean" is on top of iTunes and will likely debut in the top 10 next week. Two years ago, Taylor Swift's digital promo singles did good too but not as well as this year, her top debut for a digital promo single was "Fearless" at #9. Fearless was later released as a single but it came nowhere near its debut position unlike "You Belong With Me" which was also released as a digital promo single and debuted at #12 on the Hot 100. When "You Belong With Me" was released as an official single it did not just matched its debut position but went all the way to #2, Swift's highest peaking single to date (along with "Today Was A Fairytale" but that song debuted at #2 but spent the rest of its chart life outside top 20).

The top 10 debut of Swift's "Back to December" blocked Pink for scoring what would have been her 10th top 10 hit as her single "Raise Your Glass" knocks the top 10 door at #11. The single from her upcoming Greatest Hits compilation leaped 40 notches from #51 last week. Will it land inside the top 10 next week? Let's wait and see.

As always. the Glee cast has a lot of songs entering the chart led by their rendition of" Lucky" by Jason Mraz & Colbie Caillat which enters the chart at #27. In comparison, the original peaked at #48 but for what is worth the song won a Grammy Award for Best Pop Collaboration.

After 54 weeks, "Hey, Soul Sister" exits the Hot 100 this week. The song is the most successful song of Train on the Hot 100, peaking at #3 and it also spent two weeks on top of the Hot Digital Songs chart. With "Hey, Soul Sister" gone the longest charting song on the Hot 100 this week is "OMG" by Usher feat will.i.am with 29 weeks on the chart (#44 this week) followed by "Airplanes" by B.o.B feat Hayley Williams (#31 this week) with 27 weeks on the chart.
