Billboard Hot 100 (Issue Date: Nov. 20, 2010)

As posted yesterday, Rihanna and Drake leaped 59 notches to claim this week's #1 song on the Billboard Hot 100 displacing last week's #1 debut Ke$ha's "We R Who We R" which plunges to #5 this week. This is Rihanna's 3rd #1 this year on the Hot 100 after "Rude Boy" and Eminem's "Love The Way You Lie" where she was featured, incidentally the last act to have 3 Hot 100 #1 songs was also her back in 2008 with also two solo hits ("Take a Bow" and "Disturbia") and a featured credit (T.I's "Live Your Life"). This Rihanna's 8th #1 song, her first #1 was "S.O.S" in 2006 followed by "Umbrella" in 2007. With 8 #1 hits, Rihanna matches George Michael and The Rollingstones #1 haul. There are still 12 artists ahead of her with the most #1 on the Hot 100:

20- The Beatles
18- Mariah Carey
17- Elvis Presley
13- Michael Jackson
12- Madonna
12- The Supremes
11- Whitney Houston
10- Janet Jackson
10- Stevie Wonder
9- The Bee Gees
9- Elton John
9- Usher Raymond

The rest of the top 10 include a trio of non-movers from #2-4 ("Like A G6", "Just The Way You Are" and "Only Girl" respectively), and as mentioned earlier Ke$ha's "We R Who We R" dropped to #5 this week, Nelly's "Just A Dream"also dropped by just one notch to #6, P!nk's "Raise Your Glass" earned a new peak at #7, "Bottoms Up" slides 7-8 and "DJ Got Us Fallin in Love" is already on its way out of the top 10 as the single drops to #9 this week. Katy Perry's #1 hit "Teenage Dream" drops out of the top 10 (#12) this week but she still made it to this week's Top 10 with her new single "Firework" leaping from #29 to #10.

***

Last week 11 Taylor Swift tracks charted on the Hot 100 but this week nine of those tracks dropped out with only "Sparks Fly" as the lone non-single survivor this week at #78 down from #17 last week. Her lead single "Mine" climbs back inside the top 20 at #16, up five notches from #21.

***

Bruno Mars' new single is off to a great start as it leaped 28 notches from #68 to #36 this week. Will this be another Top 5 (or #1) hit for Bruno Mars? Let's wait and see. I personally love this week so I'm rooting for it. Meanwhile, after earning a new peak at #13 last week, Neon Trees' "Animal" drops to #15 this week, the rank it held for four straight weeks before it jumped to #13 last week.

***
The longest chart sitter B.o.B's "Airplanes" (featuring Haley Williams) spends its 30th week on the chart this week but it drops to #47 this week and with a barrage of Glee tracks debuting next week this is likely last week for the song. If it drops out next it will likely pass the "longest chart sitter crown" to Mike Posner's "Cooler Than Me" which 28 weeks on the chart this week.

"What's My Name" will likely not hold for a second week at #1 next week as it already down in sales on iTunes, as I type this it is currently at #6 (by the way the sales accounted for on the Hot Digital Songs chart came mostly on iTunes so that's why it is the best indicator which songs will sell well next week and in effect the chart rankings on the Hot 100). The current top 2 are Glee Cast's rendition of "Teenage Dream" and Black Eyed Peas "The Time (Dirty Bit)" making the race for next week's #1 quite exciting. Early reports say that the Glee Cast's cover of "Teenage Dream" is selling massively, a top 5 debut is almost a lock (some are predicting a #1 debut but I believe unless the track sells 350K or more that's not possible because of next to none airplay like most Glee tracks do), Black Eyed Peas' new song "The Time (Dirty Bit)" will also debut inside the Top 10 next week or even possibly Top 5 as given by the Peas' track record on download sales ("I Gotta Feeling" is the biggest selling digital track of all time with over 6+ million sales) I will not be surprised it that over the course of the week it could snatch the iTunes top spot from Glee. Other potential #1 next week are the former #1s "We R Who We R" which is still selling well (#3 on iTunes) with rising airplay and "Like A G6" which is still selling solidly but now has strong airplay to back it up (it's #5 on this week's Billboard Airplay chart). Speaking of the airplay chart as a bonus this week, I will also post this week's Billboard Airplay chart as originally posted on the Pulse Music Board. See the Full Hot 100 and Top 75 Airplay below:
