Billboard Hot 100 (Issue Date: November 27, 2010)

Updated: Corrected chart note on longest chart sitter remark below

Far East Movement's "Like A G6" returns atop the Billboard Hot 100 this week after two weeks at #2 trailing behind big first week sellers "We R Who We R" by Ke$ha" and "What's My Name?" by Rihanna feat Drake. It was a very close battle for #1 this week but "Like A G6" prevailed because of its perfect balance of good sales and airplay but expect another competitive battle for #1 next week with "Only Girl" and "Raise Your Glass" challenging "Like a G6" once more for the top spot. Anyway, "Only Girl" and "Raise Your Glass" both earned a new peaks this week at #2 and #4 respectively. Last week's #1 "What's My Name" dropped all the way to #7 this week close to another former #1 song"We R Who We R" down to #6 this week,.I expect both songs to go back in the top 5 (probably reclaiming the #1 spot) in a couple of weeks given that both songs are still selling well and with rising airplay to boot. Bruno Mars' "Just The Way You Are" stays at #3 while Nelly's "Just A Dream" and Katy Perry's "Firework" went up a notch each (#5 and #9, respectively). After 15 weeks in the Top 10 (peaking at #4) Usher's "DJ Got Us Fallin in Love" was bumped down to #11 this week because of a new entry in the top 10 which I'll discuss later. Trey Songz "Bottoms Up" rounded up the top 10 this week (down 8-10).

***
The Glee cover of "Teenage Dream" may have beaten their rendition of "Don't Stop Believin" for the highest first week sales but it fell short on beating or even matching the latter's Hot 100 peak at #4 as the Glee cast's "Teenage Dream" enters the Hot 100 this week at #8. Three other Glee tracks entered the chart this week, "Start Me Up/Livin on a Prayer" at #31, "Stop! In The Name of Love / Free Your Mind" at #38 and "One Love" at #41.

***

Black Eyed Peas' "The Time (Dirty Bit)" is the second highest new entry this week at #12. Many are speculating that this won't be a big hit for the group given the relative moderate performance for this track but while I'm sure this won't really match the one-two punch of "Boom Boom Pow" and "I Gotta Feeling" which spent a combined 26 weeks at #1 last year, I think it's still too early to tell if "The Time (Dirty Bit)" will not be successful.

After 30 weeks on the chart B.o.B's "Airplanes" (featuring Hayley Williams) drops out on the chart this week leaving Mike Posner's "Cooler Than Me" as the longest chart sitter with 29 weeks on the chart followed by Katy Perry's #1 hit "California Gurls" (featuring Snoop Dog) with 27 weeks but both songs are on their way out with Posner's song dropping to #48 and Katy's song hanging on by a thread at #50. If both songs dropped out next week the longest chart sitter will be a tie between Taio Cruz's "Dynamite (#14 this week) and Neon Trees' "Animal" (#15 yet again this week) as both songs will spend their 25th week on the chart next week CORRECTION: Enrique Iglesias' "I Like It" is the next in line for longest chart sitter as it spends its 27th week on chart this week at #21.

This is the last week for the 2010 Billboard Year-end charts cutoff and you might ask why so early. This chart with the issue date of November 27 which makes it the last chart for November this year and Billboard year-end charts are from December of the outgoing year to November of the incoming year (this case December 2009-November 2010) the reason that they do this is because it will give them enough time to produce the Billboard Year-end charts publication (the actual physical magazine) to be released on the second week of December. With that said on Sunday, I'll post my prediction on which songs will make it on the Top 20 of the 2010 Billboard Hot 100 Year-end chart, watch out for that ;)

I really would love to go to a concert of theirs closer here to my home and get Kenny Chesney Tickets ,seems like all the biggest concerts are so far away from me.
