Adele's 'Rolling in the Deep" streak continues as it spends a 7th consecutive week atop the Billboard Hot 100 and is now the longest running #1 song for 2011 beating Lady GaGa's "Born This Way" which logged 6 weeks at #1 earlier this year.
Katy Perry is on track to get her 5th consecutive #1 as her 5th single from her sophomore album "Last Friday Night" zooms #31 to #4 this week. She previously topped the Hot 100 with "California Girls" (6 weeks), "Teenage Dream" (2 weeks), "Firework" (4 weeks) and "E.T" (5 weeks) all from the same album. If she manages to get "Last Friday Night" to #1 she will only be the second artist to be able to send 5 songs from 1 album to #1 after Michael Jackson did it in the 80s with his album "Bad" which spawned the hits "I Just Can't Stop Loving You," "Bad," "The Way You Make Me Feel," "Man In The Mirror" and "Dirty Diana.
This week's top debut comes from Bad Meets Evil, a side project of Eminem which teams him up with former D12 member Royce da 5'9". Their single 'Lighters" which features Bruno Mars lands at #16 which makes Bruno Mars 6th Top 20 Hit which is equally divided with his three singles as lead artists and three singles as featured artist.
Selena Gomez and The Scene's "Who Says" jumps #27-#22 on its 14th week on the chart. This is Selena's highest charting single of her career on the Hot 100.
The longest chart sitter is still Bruno Mars' "Just The Way You Are"which hangs on for another week on the chart at #48 on its 48th week on the chart. It could drop on the chart next week and go recurrent. Let's wait and see
Next week watch out for Maroon Five's new song "Moves Like Jagger" which features Christina Aguilera to make a big splash on the chart next week as the song is currently the #1 song on US iTunes on the heels of a live performance of that song on the new hit American reality-singing competition "The Voice" where Adam Levine and Christina Aguilera are mentors.
